Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) has provided advocacy services for children who have experienced abuse and/or neglect in Jefferson County since 1986. These children are either currently in or at risk of entering the foster care system. CASA’s best-interest advocacy helps ensure that children are safe with a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. Our trained volunteers are appointed by the Jefferson County Family Court Judge and are expected to stay with their assigned case until the child(ren) reaches permanency. Through collaboration with legal and child welfare professionals and additional service providers, CASA ensures the judge has the needed information to make the most well-informed decision for each assigned child.
