Youth Court volunteers are Jefferson County Students between the ages of 15 and 19. In 2010, our volunteers presided over 30 cases. The young offenders, between 7-15 years of age who had their cases heard by the court of peers were sanctioned to give back to their communities a total of 300 hours of community service.

For 2010, 27 of the youth sentenced were required to attend Law Related Education Classes, 31 wrote Letters of Apology, 27 wrote Essays, one was referred to Drug and Alcohol Awareness Education, four were referred to the Wake-Up jail tour program and one was referred to a Peer Mediation.
