Resolution Center Offering Training on Military Life

On Friday, March 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at The Commons on Fort Drum, our agency will host a training titled "A Volunteer's Guide to the Military Life." Not a volunteer? No problem! The training will provide a wealth of information useful to anyone working with the military population.

We are pleased to report that the following esteemed individuals have agreed to present on these important topics:

Harold Greer, Director of Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation: Overview of housing options and regulations; Health and other benefits; Resources on post for soldiers and their families. Amy Adams, Elementary Counselor at Carthage School District: School-aged children in military families, including their special needs and the effects of moves and deployments. Tom Wojcikowski, Educator at Cornell Cooperative Extension: The stages of deployment, reintegration, resiliency, etc. Lorrie Guler, Transitions Services Manager at ACAP: The transition from military to civilian life.

If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please call the Resolution Center at 785-0333 or 376-7991. The cost to attend is $10 for volunteers of our agency and $15 for all others. The cost includes materials and a buffet lunch.
