The Resolution Center of Jefferson and Lewis Counties, New York

The Resolution Center is dedicated to effecting peaceful conflict resolution between disputing parties in Jefferson and Lewis Counties. People in our communities should have access to education and assistance with peaceful and confidential resolution of conflict by working with specially trained community volunteers and staff.

In 1991 the Jeff-Lewis Mediation Center, Inc. was established to provide alternative dispute resolution services for citizens of both Jefferson and Lewis counties through the use of trained staff and volunteers. That same year the CASA of Jefferson County program (Court Appointed Special Advocates) was placed under this non-profit umbrella. In 1997 the agency first started working with Family Court Custody and Visitation mediations, and also started the Youth Court program. In 2004 the agency changed its name to reflect the variety of programs it sponsors.

Workplace Conflict Training

Our agency is a sponsor of a conference, "Dynamics of Workplace Conflict Management," being held on April 25, 2008 at the Turning Stone Resort.

The one-day conference will provide skills and information to assist business in dealing with workplace conflict. It will also train dispute resolution service providers on consulting and designing services to meet businesses' needs.
